I offer three different approaches for the professional recording of cello tracks in the studio, depending on the type and stage of development of the source material.
Existing midi tracks or complete sheet music will be faithfully reproduced. The cello is played exactly according to the agreed material, without improvisational or creative deviations.
Existing midi tracks or notes serve as a starting point. The recording is based on this material, but is creatively developed further in the process. A new version or variation is created, inspired by the existing draft.
There is no specific sheet music. The recording is based on a joint discussion of atmosphere, mood or dramaturgical function - e.g. in relation to movie scenes or unfinished songs. The cello playing is created intuitively and improvisationally at the moment of recording.
